What makes your family portrait experience different?
Family sessions are designed around your family and the relationships that make you who you are. Rather than simply posing everyone together for a series of formal portraits, Misty creates a variety of images—from everyone together to smaller groupings and individual portraits—so your final collection feels personal and complete.
Who can be included in a family portrait session?
Families can include parents, children, grandparents, other family members, and pets. There is no specific number of people required; Misty will talk with you about your family and what you want to include.
Do you photograph extended and multi-generational families?
Yes. Grandparents, adult children, siblings, and multiple generations can all be part of your family portrait experience.
Can our pets be included?
Absolutely. Pets are welcome and can be incorporated into your family portraits as part of your story.
Where are family sessions photographed?
Family sessions can take place at Misty's studio and 2.5-acre property in Franklin, or at another location by request.
What should we wear for our family portraits?
Choose clothing that feels like you. Coordinating colors, textures, and tones usually work better than everyone wearing identical outfits. Families can dress casually or choose a more polished look.
What if my children don't cooperate for the portraits?
That's okay. Children don't have to behave perfectly or stand still for the entire session. Misty keeps the experience relaxed and interactive and works with your children's personalities rather than forcing them into poses.
What if someone in our family feels awkward in front of the camera?
You don't need to know how to pose. Misty guides you throughout the session and creates a variety of portraits so everyone has direction without the experience feeling stiff or forced.
How long is a family portrait session?
Family sessions are approximately one hour, give or take, depending on the needs of your family and the flow of the session.
Will we get different groupings during our session?
Yes. The session can include the whole family together, smaller family groupings, individual portraits, and other combinations that make sense for your family.
Can we bring something meaningful to the session?
Yes. Meaningful items, favorite toys, or other personal details can be incorporated when they add something to your family's story.
What happens after our session?
After your session, you'll view your portraits with Misty and choose the images and artwork you love. Your viewing can take place the same day or on another scheduled day.
What products are available?
Family portraits can be created as prints, Wall Art, Image Boxes, and Albums.
Are digital images available?
With your print and artwork orders, you receive the corresponding digital images—great for creating your own Christmas cards and sharing your portraits with family and friends.
Where is the studio?
Misty Westebbe Photography is located at 3234 Boyd Mill Avenue in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside downtown Franklin.
What happens when we arrive at the studio?
You'll find us just outside downtown Franklin at our cozy home and studio property. Look for the parking sign when you arrive, and Misty will come out to greet you.
Can we reschedule our session?
Absolutely. We understand that things happen, especially illness or weather, and we’re happy to work with you when a session needs to be rescheduled. Because your session date is reserved specifically for your family, we ask that you limit rescheduling whenever possible. Repeated rescheduling may require a new session fee to reserve another date.
