From the British Vogue and Dark Beauty Magazine to Concrete Cakes and South Shore Stylish, TORI NICOLE® has taken the design industry by storm with her beautiful and unique handbags all around the world. Despite all the amazing feedback, TORI NICOLE®’s incredible creator, Tori Sadler, remains very humble and very grateful for just the opportunity to design, a dream she has had her whole life.
The Origin of TORI NICOLE®
TORI NICOLE® was established in 2009 and it’s designer and CEO, Tori Sadler, says she has been “living the dream” ever since. Although she did not major in design in college, she says that her passion for art and design was instilled in her at a very young age. She remembers “lighting up in art class, sketching on the walls of her house, playing with different fabrics, and sketching “First Day of School” outfits” as a child. After earning her B.A. in Mass Media, she traveled the world which she said allowed her to “immerse herself into the lives of fascinating people. Mixing these experiences with my intrigue for textiles birthed the beginning of TORI NICOLE®, where ever piece of wearable art is reminiscent of these stories.”
Every Handbag Has a Story
Not only do her bags have a unique textile and look, each handbag she designs is given a name after someone who has made an impact in her life as a way, she says, “to honor them and have their story live on through mine.” Her first design was a handbag which she named, Amelia, in honor of her seamstress maternal great grandmother.
One of her top favorite opportunities was getting to design a clutch for the Obama administration. “Initially, they were very interested in me making several clutches to use as gifts for an international group but due to limited quantity of bags available, I proposed a new bag that would be of interest…and that is how the Berta clutch was born! Now it is my best seller and favorite. I think about its backstory with every Berta clutch that I make. The experience is one of my greatest honors. God is so good! I named it after my paternal grandmother, Alberta.”
What’s Next?
Tori is currently working on some new apparel pieces that will be launching on the website this upcoming Spring/Summer and some new handbags as well. She says her inspiration for her creations can come from anywhere, things she sees while traveling, fashion trends, and even shapes and objects!
“I am very grateful that God has allowed me to design and have a business; it is something that has been on my heart ever since I was a little girl. I stepped out on faith to leave graduate school to pursue design, and received a great amount of support from family and friends. When I launched my line in a VIRA Boutique’s fashion show in December of 2012, I remember being teary-eyed to see my designs on the runway. It was a very surreal experience. Since then , I have been in several fashion shows, allowing me to meet and foster relationships with many creative individuals striving towards the same goal; to see others enjoying and wearing our creations as much as enjoy making them…Now that I am married, my very supportive husband is very much involved, helping with sewing and creative ideas. I love the cottage company that God has allowed me to have, and am very thankful to be able to work with my family.”
We are so excited to see your new creations, Tori, and Misty Westebbe Photography definitely loved the chance to work with you!
