Welcome to our blog! Misty Westebbe Photography is a portrait studio in Franklin Tn, providing families in the Nashville Tn area with painted portraits and other beautiful art revolving around their family as the masterpiece. My name is Misty Westebbe and my husband Bruce and I are the owners, and photographers at our cottage garden studio.

  We are going to start a series of blog posts about the remodel of our small cozy cottage that we love so much. It is our home studio on 2.5 acres, a photographers playground! We purchased the house 2 1/2 years ago and began the remodel. We just finished the last major project of the bathroom and it has been my favorite of all. We debated back and forth about the flooring, the wall coverings, decor and such throughout the past year and finally decided on the best fit for the style of our home. We used as much reclaimed items as we could to keep the rustic look and feel. The walls are metal roofing and reclaimed fencing, the floor is concrete, sanded and epoxied, the ceiling tiles are a glue on plastic for a replicated look of antique ceiling tiles, and the sink top is made from barn wood. The most interesting aspect to most who have seen it, is the fact that the concrete floor is the basin of the shower and keeps the open, airy feel of the small room by not having an enclosed shower.
