Have you ever been so excited to get your pictures taken? Whether it be a family shoot, newborn, children, or even business headshots, these are all very important and exciting. But after you sit down to look at the pictures that were taken, you are very disappointed in the way they turned out. We are here to give you 10 mistakes to avoid before your photo shoot, so you can be just as excited to view your pictures as you were taking them.
- Don't wear your clothing really loose. Form-fitting and figure-hugging are the best.
- Avoid patterns because they might take away from your face.
- Avoid cap sleeves. Sleeveless is great on toned arms. 3/4 sleeves are universally flattering and slimming.
- Don't wear something out of your comfort zone. If you decide to try something out of your norm, be ready to rock it!
- Don't do anything that is out of your usual beauty routine. No spray tans. No radical hair color change. No facials, fillers, or botox within one week of your scheduled shoot.
- Don't wait until the day of the shoot to get all of the clothes and accessories together. Get all of that done the night before, so you can go to your shoot stress-free.
- Try to avoid bright nail polish. French, buff, or nude would look the best in your portrait.
- Don't just bring one outfit. Have an assortment of clothes and accessories. You could bring something light, something dark, and also a pop of color that brings out your eyes.
- Don't go simple with your jewelry pieces. Bring an assortment of jewelry like long strands of pearls, bold earrings, stacks of bracelets, and a variety of necklaces.
- When you arrive at your session, don't leave anything that you will need in the car. Take everything inside with you, so you don't have to walk back and forth and stress yourself out.
